This is my best turning and favorite lidded box - rosewood with an apricot finial and an ebony interior lid pull. Both lids have a "POP" fit and the grain aligns almost perfectly, including the interior lid. I'm normally a Wing It turner - often mounting a hunk of wood on the lathe and seeing where things go from there. Turned lidded boxes requires a little more planning because turning "lidded boxes" involves a bit of chucking and rechucking - the sequence being critical - and getting the lid fit just right can be be an exercise in patience.
