Turners who have not attempted a hollow form will be quite surprised as to the degree of difficulty in turning such a project, it becomes even more difficult when the form has a small aperture, a small entrance dramatically restricts the movement and versatility of the tools. Turning the inside to a clean flowing, even thickness with a smooth finish is a difficult exercise.

The Dave Reeks Hollow Form Systems are specially designed tool steadies for use in conjunction with your normal tool rest. It acts as a holder for the tool and removes the brute strength element away from the turner, it takes the strain while the turner concentrates on the cutting and shaping. The Hamlet, Siragas Scrapers will fit this tool, also an adapter is available to allow all the Sorby attachments to be used, including the RS 2000 System.

This system is designed to stand independent and will fit any twin bedded lathe, you use your existing tool rest but a rest that a peg can be inserted would be an advantage it will hollow down to 12".

I have extra handles and boring bars that I will include with this system.

Wood cut Pro-Form hollowing system is one of the finest free-hand, end grain/hollow form turning tools on the market. It has a hardened M2 high speed steel cutter that is open on the side to prevent clogging common with other end grain/hollowing tools. Its adjustable safety gauge determines the depth of cut and prevents dig-ins. Each cutter is both re-sharpenable and replaceable to ensure a long working life from these tools. The straight shaft is the most frequently used tool, it will produce the opening and remove the wood down the sides and across the bottom of the vessel. The slight and heavy bend tools are designed for working under the shoulder of the work piece through a smaller opening or with a reverse curve shape that limits the approach of the straight tool. All Pro-Form tools feature a heavy duty 5/8? diameter shaft that will reach up to 10? over the tool rest.
