We meet monthly on the first Wednesday of the month, 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Santa Clara High School woodshop, see address and directions below. The meetings consist of a short business meeting, a program, show and tell share session and the President's Challenge presentations.
The club encourages all members to bring in examples of what they have been working on since the last meeting to share with the membership.
The President's Challenge is a "turning" created to meet the requirements of a published list, 1 challenge for each month. The President's Challenge is presented at the monthly meetings by the members. An example might be something for the "kitchen". What might you do with "Nut Dish"? If a member completes all 12 Presidents Challenges they are presented with a special "IRONMAN" badge to be worn at the club meetings and activities. When you present your challenge and it is "accepted" you are given a raffle ticket. At the end of all the presentations, three tickets are drawn and a reward is given to the winning presenters. This could be a gift certificate from Crafts Supply, or a turning block or .... whatever becomes available. You will not believe some of the things that "turned" up during the year.
There is a mentors group available as close as a phone call. Enjoy the diversity of this group as you travel through these pages of our woodturning world.
